Deploy Crystal Reports 8.5 using Visual Studio Installer
I have referrenced to :
"crystal reports 8.5 activex designer design and runtime"
"crystal reports 8.5 activex designer run time library"
"crystal reports 8.5 standard wizard library and embeddable"
"crystal reports 8.5 designer control"
and include component :
crystal report viewer control
in my Visual Basic application
I used Visual Studio Installer to build a package and deployment file but it gave me a number of errors such as :
"One or more files in ...MSM have different versions than those installed on this machine" and
"Neither a merge module nor dependency information could be found for c:\winnt\system32\...dll"
I tryed ignoring the message and installed it on the clients machine and the program works fine until you
try access the crystal report activex controls on the vb program and bombs out. However when I install it on my machine with crystal reports on it works fine.
How do I get rid of the errors that is generated by VSI and how can I get my appliation with crystal reports build in
to workd fine on the clients machine.
I have tryed everyting such as :
1) Searched the web (Crytal Decisions, Microsoft, ect)
2) Added crystal8.msm to VSI and had no success + other merge modules
3) Wanted to resort to a defferent package and deployment program but most package and deployment programs don't have the addded functionalities VSI offers.
Please has anyone any ideas on how I can solve this one.
