Hi Everyone! I´m trying to deny access to certain IP on my Digital Unix Box. I used the hosts.equiv file like the following:
-EICSA password
where EICSA is an entry of the .rhosts file that lists the IP address of the host I´d like not to have access. But when the user Telnets, he get´s access. I don´t want to change passwords, I want the IP mentioned to not get access to my box.

you will need to pick up a tcp wrapper like tcpd and use it to deny access by IP

hope this helps ... look for CERT and they can point you to a secure ftp site
(probably PURDUE) to get it

it may even be on the DEC Freeware CD
