Hi,

I am using Lotus Domino R5 with the R5 client. I want to put a restriction on the server that will stop users emailing certains domains e.g. *@annoying.com

Can anyone shed some light on this as I cannot find a way to do it.

Thanks,

Paul

In Domino Admin Client:-
Configuration tab
Configuration Documents
Edit Configuration on mail server
Router/SMTP tab
Restrictions and controls tab
SMTP outbound controls tab - Outbound recipient controls section - Deny messages to recipients in the following Internet domains or hostnames:

Regards,
Tony.

You can make the change directly in the NAB (names.nsf) on your server:

Server, Configurations, double-click your server.

Restrictions and Controls, SMTP Inbound Controls.

Deny connections from the following SMTP internet hostnames/IP addresses.

AND

Deny messages from the following internet addresses/domains.

Once you make the change, you will need to bounce the router (or maybe even the box).

tell router q <enter>
lo router <enter>

Hope this helps.

I think everyone is misunderstanding what I am saying.

I want to stop people from within my company emailing anyone at another domain e.g. @annoying.com.

I am not bothered about where incoming mails are from for the moment.

Paul

Paul,

We are running Domino 5.0.12 here and the field I mention is certainly in the configuration document. So long as your have an ID that has the relevant authority and you have the Domino Administrator client, you should have no problem amending it.

Tony.

I have pasted in the only options I have in 'SMTP Outbound Controls' tab.

Allow messages only from the following Internet addresses to be sent to the Internet:
Deny messages from the following Internet addresses to be sent to the Internet:
Allow messages only from the following Notes addresses to be sent to the Internet:
Deny messages from the following Notes addresses to be sent to the Internet:

I am running version 5.0.2

Paul

Paul,

It seems this was an option added in 5.0.3

You will have to upgrade your Domino Servers.

Regards,
Tony.

Thanks Tony,

I am going to try and get hold of a later copy of Domino Server and have a play around with it.

Thanks again for all your help.

Paul
