I have a dc that i need to demote from a domain controller. I have several user shares on it though and I planned to keep it on line for a few weeks as a member server once it's no longer a dc. Does anybody know if the existing user shares will be left alone by the demotion process? I want to take my time moving the shares to another server if I can.

thanks for any replies...

Yes, it won't have any effect on the shares.

Better safe than sorry. ;-)

it's just a registry key anyway.
