Demo of BCM50

I'm new to BCM50 setup and my company would like to setup a demo for the BCM50 as we are being certified as an installer/seller. What is the best way to set the system up to show the phones and features but not replacing or using the phone lines in the company as we still have a reliable system in place. I have BCM50 1.0, 1230 IP phone, T7316 Std. phone, and a T7406E cordless phone. I have all the keycodes available to initialize the BCM's features but don't want to do anything without knowing I can in fact do a good display.

First, I don't think the 1230 IP phone will not work on BCM v1.0. I think you need BCM50 v3 for that.

You don't need to connect the BCM to any physical phone lines for display purposes. It will operate just fine without physical lines.

The only feature that a physical line will give you is the Auto Attendant experience.

A 1230 phone won't work until you upgrade the BCM to release 3. Typically I'll do demos with a handful of phones hanging off the box, show the potential customer the admin interface, put some calls into the box via IP or analog trunks, demo Unified Messaging, and things like that. All depends on what they want to see.

If you are looking into simulating external telephone lines, you could look at purchasing an Adtran Atlas 550. I remember using these devices during my CCNP training and they can provide POTS, ISDN, T1 interfaces..... whatever you need.

That way, you could bring a couple regular phones and simulate "outside callers" to show features like Auto Attendant, CCR Trees and accessing voicemail remotely.
