I need to develope a crystal report that shows quarterly units sold, comparing one year to another. Then predict what the current next quarter would be.

I need four predicted columns showing the following formulas:
Linear Regression
Quadratic Regression
Moving Average

I have no idea how to write these. I think I need a MATH WIZARD.
Any help would be appreciated

Hi,
Crystal Reports XI does have a Linear Regression built-in for use with OLAP data, not sure about the others - check the docs ( especially the OLAP ones):

To add a linear regression calculation
Right-click a member on the dimension where you want to add the calculated member.
On the shortcut menu, point to Data Analysis, and click Add Calculation.
This opens the Calculated Members dialog box on the Data Analysis Expert tab.

On the Calculation Type list, click Linear Regression (X and Y).
On the Member Selector, right-click the member you want to use for the Y values in the regression calculation (in this case, Store Sales).
On the shortcut menu, click Add to 'Y Values' field.
On the Member Selector, right-click the member you want to use for the X values in the regression (in this case, Store Size).
On the shortcut menu click Add to 'X Values' field.
You can click the Calculation tab now to see the calculation definition.

Click OK.

Hope it helps..

You can add such "Trendlines" to charts (it's a buit-in option in charts).

Do you always have 8 quarters worth of data? Are these 8 data points provided by the data source or do you need Crystal to compute these quarterly summaries from the raw data?
