Delphi Encryption Compendium v2.3

Hi guys,

Does anyone know where I can find an installation for Version 2.3 of the Delphi Encryption Compendium (DEC)? I am supporting a legacy application written in Delphi 4 and Delphi 5 and the development environment currently exists on only one PC. We need to move the development environment to another PC but we lack the installation files for the DEC.

I have tried version 3 but this has a deprecated property in the Cipher object and so will not work, so I need to try version 2.3.

Failing this, is there any way of copying the components from the old dev env to the new one?

And before you ask, we'd love to move to a newer version of Delphi but unfortunately we don't have the time or resources to do so.

Any help or suggestions gratefully received!

I really have no idea what the issue is, but I searched this and found the latest is version 5.2. And I really didn't find anything otherwise (the latest version I could locate was 3.0).

Probably the best you can do is find the associated files and copy them over to the new install. Or implement whatever this app uses with another method. The Win32 Crypto API has many things in it already, so if you are on a Windows with that and it supports what you need, it might be best to switch it over to using that.

Point being if you are tied to this specific version of this component and don't have the source files for it on hand, you'd probably do well to find other options.

are you sure you can't get it working in version 3.
Do get warnings about the deprecated property or errors?

Thanks for the replies. I'm going to try giving CnPack a try (

This includes some tools to replicate the IDE and may do what I want.

Failing that I will have to rewrite using version 3.0 (or maybe 5).
