Hi to all members,
Im new to delphi programming and this forum, i want some advice on how to learn delphi from scratch and books that i can use. I can't find any delphi textbook in bookstore and most of the delphi books on Amazon are all old from early 90's. Im sure you guys have books for reference which is not outdated. Any suggestions are welcome.

Thanks
kay

I don't think there is much money to be made writing Delphi books. Marcu Cantu is still writing his Mastering series.

I have the following on my bookself:
Delphi Programming Problem Solver by Rubenking. Old but useful.
Mastering Delphi 6 by Cantu. Pretty good.
Delphi 6 Developers' Guide by Teixeria, Pacheco. Pretty good.
Delphi in a Nutshell by Lischner. Documents things that weren't obvious before.
Algorithyms and Data Structures by Bucknall. Over my head. :)
Delphi/Kylix Database Development by Harmon. Haven't used it much.
Delphi 6 by Eller. Quick read - some useful information.

There are lots of great websites, however, with tons of great code.

Some of them are:

Be aware of the later Marcu Cantu books. I foolishly purchased "Delphi 2007 Handbook" based on my experience with earlier books. It was a $40.00 rehash of the CodeGear "What's New in 2007" web page. Total waste of money!
