Delphi 6 to Access

We have two programs that we use, one in Delphi 6 and one in MSAccess 97. What we want to do is run the Access 97 mde from Delphi hidden, be able to call a function in the Access mde with a parameter, and receive a variant in return.We have looked at DDE Servers and Delphi Access objects but are experiencing difficulty in completing this task. Any ideas or hints would be greatly appreciated.

I would make the tables in access and create a user interface with delphi, using objects and queries, the delphi access objects can be used to manipulate access from delphi but it is easier to store the data in access and do all the queries, reports, data entry etc. from delphi

Some good examples, and means you control your code much better.
Be warned about different version of Office though. Check out the Steven's FAQ and this thread...
