I'm running a T300 and am trying to install SCO 5.0.7. It's using a Dell SAS 6i (LSIL Chipset) for the HDD's and another LSIL for a tape drive.

System will not boot when I have both cards installed. I have tried moving the SAS 6i card to slot 1 but the BIOS still installs the tape drive controller card a lower HBA number. When the system boots it displays the message
hd: no root disk controller was found.

Does anyone have insight on how to fix this problem?

There is a BTLD available for the lsil driver. If you needed that, I would suspect the system would give you the "no rot disk controller was found" error, regardless of whether you had 1 or 2 controllers installed.

The BTLD driver I have is revision 1.4.9 and is dated 09/2008. There might be newer versions (likely).

If you are able to load the OS with just a single adapter, maybe you can disable BIOS on that second adapter. It's a pain in the butt to add the secondary adapter AFTER the OS has been installed.
