Has anyone tried to install the App server iso to a Dell server? I have tried to a R240 and a T140 both have failed for different reasons. I am working with Avaya now but wanted to see if anyone has been able or tried to install this to a bare metal server with no OS and not virtual. The R240 had a software Raid controller the T140 has a hardware one but it is disabled. Not sure if this is me or if Avaya has an issue with new Raid controllers from Dell.

This does not filter to CentOS only redhat. But Thank you for your response.

It is for Red Hat Enterprise, which is the same functionality. This link comes from the Avaya KB. You can also use this link, which is what you find when you Google Dell CentOS support.

I have used both links and have never had a problem. T30 and T140 (both on these lists) have worked fine.

Looks like the R240 isn't supported until RHEL 8 and the application server is 7.7. As far as the T140, maybe it is an issue with RAID controller compatibility. I assume you checked the controller configuration and the system sees the controller and drives. The T140 I used had a SATA controller with a single drive and loaded without issue.

According to the Red Hat page, only Broadcom 9460-16i controller is supported in RHEL 7.x

Hey teletechman, I'm having the same exact issue. Tried it on an older R610 that I have laying around. Then realized that this is CentOS and I should be able to install it on most things. Tried it on a custom built desktop class machine just for laughs and have this exact same initramfs issue. Which as I understand it is a mounting issue but then none of the tools to fix it are there like fdisk.

Since 2004 working as a local Vendor.

What are people using for App server hardware then?

For IP500v2's moving to R11.1 that have a physical machine and don't have their own VM infrastructure we are going to use the built in Hyper-V on a windows 10 pro machine using an intel NUC for $699(16GB, 4-core i5, 512GBSSD) Our R11.0 customers with physical machines with vmpro on windows have these. This gives us the remote access, Manager tools and software, etc all one PC like we are used to.

Have you already tested this and are able to install the App server to the NUC? Also Hyper-V is not supported yet on R11.1.

Been using Hyper-V since R9.0 in house on our own system without issues. R11.1 is no different for us anyways, still working fine. (We are not using one-x portal anymore.)

I would love to know how you got R11.1 working with Hyper-V> I've tried and pulled teeth to get this to work with no success.

Yes, we've done the .iso install as an app server. I believe OP was talking about 11.1 voicemail pro for a IP500v2.
