I have a Dell PowerEdge 1400 server, bought a few years ago.

The HDD`s were only 9 gig x 2 (mirrored).

We therefore decided to upgrade and bought:

2 x Hitachi IC35L036UCDY10-0 36GB

However when I opened up the server the SCSI cable connectors are incompatible with the new drives.

Since I have opened the HDD`s (bought from dabs), I take it that they are unreturnable due to this.

Is the best way to go forward to buy a SCSI RAID card for the Dell to use the new drives?

If this is the case could someone please recommend one for me that would be:

1) Compatible with drives
2) compatible with the Dell server

The cheapest option is most preferable, speed is not too important, we only have five users, however I have to be able to mirror the drives.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Dan
