I received a Power Edge 2600 server a couple of years ago from a friend who had no use for it, it's been collecting dust ever since. It has dual Xeon processors and five 36gb 10k rpm hard drives. Unfortunately, it has no operating system. My questions are....what would be the most practical and inexpensive OS I can install and can I use it to network with my regular pc for the purpose of using it as file storage instead of loading up the small 80 gig hard drive in my Dimension 9200?
