Dell perc 3/DC Controller

Can anyone advise

I have a dell 4600 which has perc 3/DC Controller in it to handel the the disks.

I have a spare Dell perc 3/DC Controller which I would like to install in the server to use one of the external LVD scsi chanells for a Dell Power Vault 122T Tape drive.

Is this possible

I have seen TBUs running on raid channels, without disks involved, but I would not recommend it as there are basically no SCSI paramters which you can modify should the TBU have issues.

I agree with technome, you can probably get it to work but it's a low quality solution. Adaptec makes some very solid low priced SCSI controllers, the 29160 is one of my favorites.
