We have a bunch of Dell OptiPlex GX280 SmallFormFactor PCs that came with no CD drives - there is a plastic plate over where the drive would go. In order to run Dell Diagnostics, I need to install a drive here. Can anyone tell me how to do this? I can't get the case plate off the front to insert the drive in the bay - and can't find instruction on proper disassembly of the chassis.

Thx

If all you need to do are some quick diagnostics, you don't really need to mount the drive in the case.

Open the case by pressing on the buttons that are on the sides of the case near the rear (there are 2). The top of the case will hinge forward, it WILL NOT come off, just open up.

Hook your drive up to the M/B with an IDE cable, plug a loose power connector into it, and lay it on a piece of cardboard in the case making sure it's not touching anything.

Use drive, remove, close case.
