Dell/Net by MSN New MSN 7

I just got a new Dell and I'm very happy with it. My problem is a minor glich with the sign on to Internet Access, Dell/Net by MSN 7. If you are familiar with Dell/Net, when you type in your password and hit "sign-in Button", a small WAV file plays and when mine plays it sounds like a skip in a record. The people at Dell/Net Customer Support want to blame it on Hardware. This is the only problem I've had with sound on this latest and greatest Dell Demension 8200, Win XP, 2.2ghz, 1 gig ram, CD-RW/DVD+RW combo Philips Drive 120 gig HD.
Any Suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Does anyone hear this problem, if you are using Dell/Net?
