Dell Latitude D400 lock up problem solved

my old Dell laptop kept on locking up and randomly
shutting down and sometimes not booting so I removed
the top plastic cover strip(the one with the LATITUDE
logo on it) removed the keyboard, and pressed down
hard on the processor chip in the far right hand
corner.Its now all working ok so I guess its a contact
problem solved ?
