I got myself an old inspiron 3500 for some time now and it has been booting fine, however, recently it just stopped booting up. The system for some reason can't find the hard drive. Can someone please tell me what could be the cause of this issue?? I tried re-seating the drive but that does not help.
Thanks

The usual cause is a defective hard drive. Sometimes it can be a bad CMOS battery that loses drive info.
