I recently got a dell inspiron 8100. It has SXGA 15" screen, and GeForce 2 go 16mb. The color mode seems to be stuck in 16 bit even though I set it to 32 bit in the display settings.
When I play video games that have video intros, they have poor color mixing as though the color palette is limited. I also see it with DVD movies. When you look at different shadings, the transition from one shade to the other is blotchy and poorly blended. This is very annoying with DVDs.
On my other laptop, a Compaq Presario 700 with 32mb shared video ram, XGA display, DVDs play great with full color and smooth color transitions.
I was wondering if this problem is normal for a video card with 16mb ram on systems with SXGA displays?

Video: 16mb Geforce 2 go
