Hi All,

i have a very annoying problem. I have two users with the following Problem. They login to there PCs (Dell OptiplexGX2xx with WindowsXP Pro in DOmain enviroment) and after a while the Dell monitor gets black. When you hit the menu button it only displays: "In power save mode, move mouse or hit any key." But they never come back.
I did so far:
1. Change the monitor to a HP one, also goes black but states no signal.
2. Installing newest drivers
3. Checking Power options in Bios (S1) and XP (Presentation)with user and admin accout
4. Exchanging VGA-Cable, Power-Cables, using other floorbox power plugs.
5. Deleting local users Profile
6. Consult the Dell Forum, 181 Post regarding this BUT no working fix
All wont fix it. If anyone knows howto please let me know.

If the monitors enter standby, it is because the video card tells them to, and this makes sense because the video cards must be identical on the three computers, yes? What video cards do you have there? You can try modifying some settings that govern how power saving is handled by the video card. you can probably disable it altogether.

You can also try to go to Control Panel > Power Options, and in the Power Schemes tab, change Turn Off Monitor to Never.

Hope this works, good luck.
