I have a Dell Dimension 8100 desktop, equipped with 2*64MB RDRAM. I have bought 2*128MB RDRAM to upgrade.
Having removed the C-RIMM modules, placed the 2*64MB modules in slots 3 & 4, and the new 128MB modules in slots 1 & 2.

When the machine boots up, I get Memory read/write errors and then a blank screen, despite the set-up screen saying I have all the right modules in the right slots. Any ideas?

See if the system works with just the 2 new RAM modules installed.
If not, then the new modules may either be incompatible with your system, or they may be defective.

If your system works with just the 2 new modules installed, then install the old modules in slots 1 & 2, and the new ones in slots 3 & 4.

If no luck, then the new ones may be incompatible with the old ones.
