Currently my SQL Server 2005 is running on a Windows 2008 OS on a Dell PE 1800, which I got about four years ago. The machine is also used as a File Server. The maximum number of users will be 10 in the next few years.
I am thinking about upgrading the database server to SQL Server 2008 on Windows Server 2008. Here are my questions.
1. Going to Windows Server 2008 seems to be the no-brainer. But is it worthwhile to do the upgrade?
2. Do I need Windows Server 2008 x64? I think I do not need it because I only have about 10 users.
2. The Dell PE 1800 has been working great for me. I'd like recommendations on new Dell Servers for small business.
Thanks in advance.
