I run IT at a medium size company. We are a Dell shop with laptops and desktops.
I just had my third D630 start freezing up with video streaking through the Dell logo on required hard reboot.
The freezing up is random and just starts happening. It slowly gets more frequent.

On one laptop it would show an error report regarding the video drivers.

It turns out this is a known issue for the NVIDIA video chip on the motherboard of D630 laptops. After describing symptoms to Dell Gold support reps they send out a tech to replace the motherboard and that fixes the problem.

On the first laptop I spent a lot of time trouble shooting, reinstalling drivers, etc. I hope this saves time for others.

Cheers
