I have a DELL LATITUDE D610
Video Card: ATI MOBILITY RADEON X300

I am not able to increase the screen resolution beyond 1024 by 768 pixels. That is max I can go with the slider.

How can I get better resolution of, say for example, 1400 by 1024.

Any ideas ?

Thanks in advance
Mallik

Have you tried installing the newest driver update?

Also are you sure the monitor can go higher than that? If its an old monitor that may be its higest resolution.

Update to the newest driver off of atis site.

I downloaded the drivers and while installing it says driver incompatible with current hardware and software. It is a laptop. There is no other monitor.

Thanks in advance

It looks like the resolution of your screen is 1400 x 1050. IT may not be what you want to read but your only way to get the proper drivers for your laptop is probably from Dell themselves, as LCD screens are not as standards as external monitors can be. These drivers can also have to manage things that are specific to one model of laptop.

What does the Device Manager says about the graphics chip actually? Does it see it properly? Does it say that the drivers are working correctly?
