I have installed 2 new scsi disks into a raid 5 array. The server is a dell poweredge 4400 with a perc3 controller.
I have one single container of 101Gb and want to expand it to use all space on the new disks. Is there a quick way to do this. I am using array manager and the os is windows 2000.
It seems to take forever to do anything with the raid, is this normal. I set it to reconfigure 6 hours ago and it is still going.

Sounds like you are doing it right as long as all you disks are the same size.

Yeah, RAID stuff can take a LONG time to complete. Particularly when you are expanding existing partitions.

Can't say 100% that you are doing it right, but I do know it can take quite some time to finish. =============

You will have to convert your basic disk to a "dynamic disk" using array manager. Once your disk is dynamic, you will be able to expand the OS volume using array manager.
