For the past week or so I have been running Lakeside Softwares SYStrack on my servers to get an Idea of what is happening
My Main server, (Chip) a Dell 4400 2G Ram 310G Raid 5
PDC
DNS
DHCP
Print
SQl
3Intel Server Nics in a team all 10/100 to a Netgear 524 unmanaged Switch
What is happening is I am seeing is high Packet traffic high Byte count and very high Output Queues
Lakesides baseline for Network output q is 2 and I am running 2300 and my packet traffic baseline is 1000 and my server is running 8000
what do I do now to see what is causing the network traffic and how do I go about eliminating it.
Will going to a gigabit managed switch solve the problem?
I also run a Dell 2450 dual processor as a Citrix Metaframe server. an it peaks out with some high traffic but then goes back down.
Thanks
Greg
