deleting xrecord-non graphical data

How do you delete xrecord or non graphical data from a drawing? we have number of drawings that contain large amounts of this kind of data - resulting in very large file sizes.

at this time this extra data is not needed and we cannot find easy way to delete this data from these drawings. any help is much appreciated.
