deleting vs de-taching

Hi,

i was wondering if there is a difference between detaching a database and deleting it?

If so, how do i delete a detaached database?

A delete detaches the database and deletes the disk files.

I think what you want is to delete the disk files as as far as sql server is concerned the database doesn't exist after a detach.

Cursors are useful if you don't know sql.
DTS can be used in a similar way.
