Deleting voice item application from App Builder

When I attempt to delete an used voice item application out of application builder I receive a message back stating "cannot delete an application that is imported by another application". Does anyone know how I can get around this?

This means that the application (1) you are trying to delete is being used inside another application (2).

delete this application (1) out of application (2). Save. Then delete application (1) completely.
