Hello All,

Using the process below, I am unable to delete VM from any mailbox on my system, R11.

1. Connect to the system using a serial cable.
2. Enter AT. The system should respond OK.
3. Enter AT-DEBUG. The system will respond with hello

I can enter some of the commands, and get the expected responses, but when I use ivm-mbox-clear nnn it doesn't delete anything in the mailbox that I specified (no I didn't type nnn!). Nor does del-all or the command to delete by date.

Anyone have any idea what I'm doing wrong?

That only works for embedded voicemail

What version of voicemail are you using.
Maybe you are on VM pro.
Look at voicemail tab or system status to see the version.

Thanks for the reply, but it is not VM Pro.

Embedded VM, Release 11.0.4.7

Brand new system out of the box,

Did you do an ivm-mbox-show first? You'll have to use the exact same name that the IPO understands it to be. Example output:

Hello>ivm-mbox-show

Mailbox: Extn12
Mailbox: Extn11
Mailbox: PEAA1
Mailbox: Extn10
Mailbox: Extn18
Mailbox: Extn15

To nuke the contents of mailbox 12, you'll have to type ivm-mbox-clear Extn12 rather than ivm-mbox-clear 12 (my intuition originally).

I didn't originally.

When I did ivm-mbox-show, it came up unexpectedly as the users name. I was trying to delete by extension number, like you!

I then tried the clear and delete commands but it came up with an error but I can't recall what it was.

I believe my issue has to do with your suggestion.

I'll verify Monday morning with exactly the error I am getting if I can't get it to work.

FTI if you add Patches 0X0020 to the NUSN you can telnet to the IP Office 500V2 and head straight to the Debug. No need to DTE to the port. Obviously you want to disable this when you are not using the service because it is a security risk.
