Hi. How can I stop previously visited URLs from popping up whenever I start to type in an address in the address bar.

In internet options I have tried deleting history, deleting temporary internet files and deleting cookies.

Also in the registry I have tried deleting typed URLs.

But all of the addresses keep popping up.

Please can anyone help?

For IE 6.0

In internet options, on the general tab, change your days to keep history to zero, click on apply, click on "clear history", and click OK (don't use the X). Then use the File ->close command (not the X) to exit IE.

Reopen IE and you should be clear.

Cheers.

Howdy:

As you have already done what was suggested in the first answer without success, I suggest you do the following..

Control Panel>Internet Options>Content>Auto Complete..

Uncheck Web Addresses and Forms and then click on "Clear Forms".. Once done, okay out.. Now, clear your history, temp internet files, etc..
