Deleting transaction logs

Anyone got an answer to this?

Our SQL*Server (version 8.00 - SP3) we have a database maintenace plan which spcifies that transaction logs older than 2 days should be removed. But they're not. All other parts of the maintenance plan appear to operate normally. Anyone else noticed this or knows why this is not happening.

Though I am not sure why this occurs ... I too have issues w/ this setting on a few of my servers. The workaround I have devised is a job that reads all of the shares I use for backup files and deletes the aniquated ones based on the creation date.
