Deleting Registry Keys

Trying to delete a registry key (VID _03p0&pi0_0201) for the HP Scanjet 6200C. When I try to delete, get the message "Cannot delete....error while deleting key". When I try installing the HP software, I get the message that "unknown has generated errors and will be closed by windows".

I am totally stuck. Any Ideas?

Just a wild shot. There is a program called Respledent Registra. It's a killer registry editor. I've been able to delete keys that regedit and regedt32 couldn't.

Bowler1,

It might be in use. Check your services, and any reference to a printer, kill it. Try to delete the key again.
