Deleting Records in a Distributed Database

Hello, I have an ACT DB that is distrubted via e-mail syncs to about 12 users. All users sync to the admin user.

I've been told not to allow my users to delete contact records in ACT because it can cause undesirable effects, specifically if another user attempts to access the deleted record before their database is updated and the contact is deleted.

Has anyone had any experience with this? Can you offer me any pointers, things to be aware of, or are my concerns unfounded? Thanks!
