Does anyone know how to let users delete their own print jobs in Netware 5? They can delete them from the windows printer interface but they want to be able to delete them from the server.

Thanks for your help!

Is it a network printer you want them to modify jobs for?

I would say all you need to do is assign rights to it.

Hope it is that simple.

This is a network printer. Should I assign the specific user as "Operator" for the printer and would they then be able to delete the print job from their destop Windows printer interface?

Unless you want users to be able to delete other users jobs, as a queue user they should be able to delete thier own jobs from the desktop interface.

Cheers,

Mark ;-)

How do I configure NW5 to let users delete only their own print jobs?

We used to have a really nice simple way for users to be able to delete print jobs from queues, then Netware introduced Netware 5 and remove PConsole!

Can anyone tell me how a general user is able to delete a print job from a "Public Access" printer? Using Nwpmw32.exe and Nwjmw32.exe only does so for "Controlled Access" printers. (And I really don't want the average user using NWAdmin32! or giving them access to the server console!)

Thanks,
W.

Displaying print jobs from the workstation shows what jobs are in the Novell Q. If the print job has not actually been completely delivered to the printer deleting it at the workstation does remove it from the Novell Q.

To check this you can have multiple users send print jobs to the printer. When you display the print jobs from any one users workstation you should see all the print jobs from all the users that sent print jobs.

If your users are not assigned operator rights they will only be able to delete their own jobs.
