Hi All,

I have a parameter field that I would like to delete but is showing that it is still being referenced in the report. I have checked all of my formula fields and none of them are using it and I deleted the 1 reference in the design.

Is there a way that I can delete this parameter field or at least find where this paramter field is being used? I have tried the refresh button and checked the select expert as well.

Thanks,

You can try to export the report in Report Definition format and check where it's referenced in that, otherwise you'll just have to hunt about...

Remember to verify that it no longer exists in the Record or Group Selection Formulas.

thanks for the response,

I decided to delete all of my formula field in the design to see if it stilled reference that the parameter field was being used in which it wasn't any more and allowed me to delete it.

Strange because I didn't edit any of the formulas.

There is a very good way to find all instances of a parameter....after you have deleted/changed all formulas that use the parameter....then leave the parameter in the report but change the dataType....eg. from String to number

Now when you run the report....All the "lurking" formulas will POP-UP since they won't work with the new datatype...then you can modify or record them for later deletion....once they are gone then delete the Parameter Jim Broadbent

Another thing I have done when searching for a parameter field is to print a report definition to disk and then search for the string "{?", which all parameters start with. Software Training and Support for Macola, Crystal Reports and Goldmine
