Is there a way to find and delete all MS Word Temp (.TMP) and Backup (.WBK) files from my PC. (Running on Win 7 OS).
Problem is I'm running some script that occassionally opens a specific word doc, writes to it, saves and closes it. After several runs of this, somehow the word doc locks or prompts for this or the other and I'm trying to prevent that by deleting all existing .tmp and .wbk before each run.

Please help

Word automation is not my strong suit, but it seems to me that rather than attempting to bypass MS Word's mechanisms for protecting files, you should look into making your script more robust, add error trapping and try to determine (and hopefully eliminate) the lockups, or handle the prompts accordingly.

Honestly I would recommend downloading ATF Cleaner (All Temp Files Cleaner) from Attribune. The tool is free, although it has not been updated it does work with current operating systems up to Windows 8.1.
ATF Cleaner

When running it I usually select "Select All" then I uncheck cookies to save my browser cookies.

I hope that helps.

Mark
