Use the metadetach commands to remove the mirrors
Eg -
metadetach d60 d62
metadetach d60 d61

Then

metaclear d62
metaclear d61
metaclear d60

Edit the /etc/vfstab file to point to your cxtydz devices.

Remove metadbs - metadb -d blahblah

Reboot.

I did as you had said and then restored from tape on disk8 made changes to vfstab and tried to boot from disk8 ......it says unable to boot /usr & see 'svcs -x'
system goes into maintenance mode.........

any tips?

thanks

Jaya

You'll need to supply more information, there could be many reasons.

What does your vfstab contain now? How did you partition the disk? What did you restore on to it, and which slices did you restore it to?
