Was experimenting with workgroup creation and such things with a view to securing a particular database.

I created a workgroup called Workgroup.mdw and then gave myself (admin) a password for Access.

I then disabled the security login by deleting my password, however I am unable to get rid of the Workgroup.mdw file as Access seems to be looking for it every time upon startup.

Does anybody know of how I can stop Access looking for this file so that I might dispose of it? (I presume I want Access to be working from the standard System.mdw file...)

Wrkgadm.exe

To rejoin the original system workgroup file.
This file is located in the windows/system32 or winnt.

Once you rejoin using this utility you will be able to delete the old file.

Thanks - should really have thought of that myself.

I did as you suggested and the file has been deleted successfully.
