Deleting Mailmerge field from Word .Dot

Hello,

We have a document template linked to a text file which contains delimited records. Merge fields have been added but now need to be removed. When we delete the field and save the template everything seems fine until we close and then reopen the document, the field is somehow back again.

I have checked that the correct document is being saved and then reopened. Any static text changes save correctly.

Any help/suggestions would be gratefully received.

Hi there,

I'm not sure if this is what you are looking for, but if you go back to your main document and click on "mail merge" again, you should get a window with "mail merge helper". If you click on the "create" button again, you should get an option at the end of the list saying "restore to normal word document".
