Deleting Macros on Word 97 in Win2k

I would like to know why it is not possible for me to delete macros which appear as if they have been created by me within the last week. I am logging into my machine using the same username as always. None of the macros appear with the delete key enabled. Is there another way to delete these macros.

I recently have been experiencing unusual behaviour emanating from Word whereby the WORD.EXE application will sporadically eat up available cpu resources and I can only stop this by closing the document I am currently working on. Could this be linked to some dodgy macros.
