I have public folders set up to capture emails for my sales team from a generic email address. Once one user has viewed an email in a public folder i would like them to be able to delete it from the public folder so that no other users see it. (save them duplication work). Does anyone know how to do this, currently they all seem to have their own copy??? If one deletes, it will only be removed from the public folder on their machine.

When you selected the "Download Public Folder Favorites" checkbox on each users mail profile, it added the public folder favorites to each users offline cache (.ost file). When a user deletes an item, it does delete the item, but other users views of the public folder will not show the deletion until their copies of the public folder are synchronized. To get everyone on the same page, uncheck that box on all the profiles so that you can have real-time views of the folders.

excellent thank you, one more slight query, do you know how users can flag messages in the public folder to be complete, and have this reflect on the public folders for other users. This does not seem to work either.

What I've usually done is create another subfolder called "Completed" and had users move items into it when they are done with them, rather than deleting or flagging them. That seems to work best, and then they can be deleted a few weeks later as part of a general cleanup.
