Need help deleting partial data from an excel field.
Here is is my field...

SSN
123-45-6789

SSN
123456789

I need to remove the hyphens from 500 records.

Is it EVERY single record in the sheet? or are there other hyphens flying about!
If the're not any more... then couldn't you use "Find and Replace" on the edit menu?
Find - replace with nothing?

Just a thought

actually.. even if there are other hyphens about.. you could just select the specific data first.. and then do a find and replace on that!

Try:

=SUBSTITUTE(A1,"-","")

And copy down!

:)

Peace! [peace]

Mike
