Once of my users created a sub-folder in her document library called Forms. (Document Library called Private Documents, folder called Recruiting Forms, then user created Forms under that.)

She has removed the documents and wants to remove the folder as well, but when trying to delete it, Sharepoint appears to think it is the built-in Forms folder and will not allow her or me to delete it. I tried to rename it, but it won't allow that for the same reason.

Any ideas how I can get rid of this folder?

Every list and document library in SPS2003 has a subfolder called "Forms". It is there by design, and contains the Sharepoint templates for viewing information in the library. If you navigate to the document library through Explorer, you can see the templates that are placed there.

It sounds like the user's folder is in a sub-directory. The interface doesn't allow deletion because of what I explained above, but you may be able to delete it from the web client (Explorer) interface.

Thanks for the suggestion. I have already tried that and while it appears to let you delete it, if you navigate back to the sub-directory it's back.

Looks like she may have to live with an empty folder for now.
