A record in one of my tables has all kinds of crazy characters in the fields (boxes, @). I cant delete the record. It thinks there is a record in another table liked to it. It says "The search key was not found in any record" The search key is a field in another table which is linked to my current table. I deleted the link and tried to delete the record and I still get this error.

How do I delete this record?

Why does this happen?

I apperciate any help.

If all else fails why not design a make table query that runs from your "corrupted" table and have the criteria for the ID field read "Not In(*#2z8)" and then run the query. It should copy all the records except for the one that reads *#2z8 (or whatever it shows in the corrupted ID field of the record you do not want to transfer to the new table.

Just a cheap guess I have no idea what I'm talking about

If this is an Access database, did you try backing up the database and then compacting it.
