deleting blocks of text

I have a task to delete from the original text the blocks that satisfy this pattern: &quot;<sometag>text of any length</sometag>&quot;

I am relatively new to VBScript, so I wonder how to do it. Are there regular expressions? Can someone help me how to do it? I will be extremely grateful.
