Deleting an embedded object

I am trying to delete an embedded text object that contains
a paramater field. When I go to Insert field object on the menu and try to delete the paramater fields the delete option is inactive. Any help would be appreciated.

Are you saying that you're trying to delete text object which contains a parameter?

An embedded object implies that it is contained within another object, in trhis case the text object is not within and object, rather it has an embedded object (I think...), so it's unclear.

I believe that you mean "I am trying to delete a text object that contains an embedded parameter field.

Try just selecting the object on the report canvas and hit the del key.

You wouldn't use Insert to delete an object whether it contains another object or not. If you want to delete the parameter, and it won't let you because it's within a text object (I thought that it would), then double click the text object on the report canvas and delete the parameter portion from within it first, might help.
