Does anyone know of an easy way to wipe out all the Network Element Assignment entries on a 3300ICP? I have 238 systems I need to completely redo the entries on. The systems are on rel. 7.0.9.5 and I am getting ready to enable SDS on them but need the entries cleaned up first.

Thanks,
Dale

do you really need to delete them all or just clean them up? Rel 7 now has the ability to export and import all forms via CSV files. Export the form, clean it up and import it, works like a charm.

If you are really bent on deleting, you could always acquire a blank form from another system and FTP the form into the 3300. I'm not recommending this method, but it works.

Well, I need to actually delete. The element names and types are incorrect but the IP addresses are valid so I must delete them before importing the correct entries. When the systems were first installed, someone made the decision to name the systems 1 through 238 but we have since re-named them all to "MitelXXX" (XXX being the 3 digit site designation). The types were defaulted to "Other" instead of 3300ICP when we upgraded the systems from 4.x to 7.x. If the system will actually let me ftp a replacement file that would be great. Can you provide the filename and path?

Thanks,

Dale

With 238 elements I was going to assume OpsManager is somewhere in this mix, but with all numeric element names makes me want to rethink that assumption. I didn't think Ops would allow it (at any revision)

Is this customer NA or EMEA? I've got some vacn time coming up :)

Well, OpsManager/Enterprise Manager are new additions actually. We were 100% manual up until a few months ago and that is also one of the reasons we can no longer have the numeric element names. As for the customer; That would be me :). We support our own systems in-house.

KWB's sugestion to use a blank Ntwk Elements form and blow it in via FTP is probably going to be your best hope. Have you called Product Support? They might have a better suggestion.

You might also want to get off of 7.095 at your first opportunity.

Put a request in to them on Friday, waiting to hear back. Why move off of 7.0.9.5?

I was just reading the KPI and recalled seeing several hits on 7.0.9.5 Seemed to me like a load to avoid.

Hmm... I don't know of any specific issues we have had since upgrading. I'll keep an eye on it though...

Thanks,

Dale
