i have just purchased a second hand computer which, when i start to type in a url it comes up with sites with the starting letter as a quick find.

some of these sites are not of a type children should see. how can they be deleted.

i have gone into tools/internet options/advanced and checked "do not search from address bar". i have deleted cookies and history and tempory internet files.

Am i correct in thinking these url's may be stored in the user.dat file if so can this be blown away and i guess if so it would start a new user.dat on boot up.

i thank you in advance for help in getting rid of this annoyance

Firstly
Go- Tools/Internet Options/General/Clear History
- It may be a good idea to clear all IE temp files and cookies just to start from scratch.
then- Tools/Internet Options/Content/Clear Forms & Passwords
- you can also disable 'auto complete' from here
Any other remnants of url's can be ceared from the registry. I can pass you on the relevant tip when I get back to my base.
Hope some of this helps.
Regards
