I have an organisation with a number of sites most with just one server in it. One of the servers has died and so effectively we have no server on that site. The server which has died is a 5.5 server.
As we are in the process of migrating to 2000 it has been decided rather then rebuild the NT server and restore everything and migrate we would simply do a new installation and create a new site and create new accounts for everyone.
This leaves the issue of dealing with the old site and server object. What is the best way of deleting them?
I can sort of follow the microsoft KB on removing a site from the organisation though obviously i will not be able to do anything on that site.
So should it be ok simply to remove connecters etc. and hope it disappears, or is it going to be a case of going in raw mode and deleteing the object that way?
